How To Measure Your Walls

Measuring for wallpaper is simpler than it seems - you just need to know the height and width of the walls you plan to cover, specifically at their highest and widest points. Remember to add a bit extra for installation. Check out our guide below for useful advice.

Measuring A Single Wall

How to measure your next wallpaper order 48cm wide panels

For standard walls, measuring is straightforward: record the height and width of the entire wall, verifying your measurements for accuracy. Begin measuring now to transform your plain wall into a work of art. Your wallpaper will come pre-cut in 48cm wide panels for easy installation.

As a courtesy, we'll add an extra 10cm in height to your wallpaper order to compensate for any uneven wall surfaces, helping to minimize installation challenges and potential disappointment. However you will need to allow for an additional 10-15cm in width for installation purposes.

Pro Tip: Measure your wall 2-3 times to confirm the dimensions are correct, and always factor in the recommended extra width mentioned above.

Measuring Multiple Walls

Height: To get the right height for your order, measure the height of different walls to find the tallest point. This tallest point becomes the height you'll use for ordering as not all walls are always straight or even.

Width: To find the total width you need, measure each wall's width and add them together. For example, add Wall A + Wall B + Wall C to get your total width. You will need to add an additional 15cm in width which is required for installation purposes.

As a courtesy, we'll add an extra 10cm in height to your wallpaper order to compensate for any uneven wall surfaces, helping to minimize installation challenges and potential disappointment.

Pro Tip: Make sure to measure your wall 2-3 times to double-check the dimensions are accurate.

Custom sizing: If you're covering multiple walls, you will need a custom quote - please email your full wall dimensions based on the above guide through to custom@oliveetoriel.com for an accurate price.

Don't forget to always triple check your measurements!
